Brent Cooper becomes 118th Chair of the Calgary Chamber, Anne Harding and Jason Hatcher elected Board Directors

CALGARY – The Calgary Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Brent Cooper, Partner at McLeod Law, as Board Chair; as well as the election of Anne Harding, Owner of Forum Community Relations Inc. and the re-election of Jason Hatcher, Managing Principal of Navigator, as Board Directors.

“Our Board of Directors are passionate volunteers who generously donate their time, expertise, and insights to build a business community that nourishes, powers, and inspires the world,” says Sandip Lalli, President and CEO of the Calgary Chamber. “As we head into 2020, we will continue to have strong leadership around the Board table. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together.”

Brent Cooper is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (BA’84 and LLB ’87) and was admitted to the Bar in Manitoba in 1988 and Alberta in 2000, the same year he joined McLeod Law. He has extensive experience in court across the prairies, with a primary focus on business law. Brent has been strongly involved with the Chamber since 2014, having previously served as Board Director and, most recently, as Vice Chair.

Anne Harding holds a Master of Arts in Corporate-Aboriginal Relations and is the Founder of Forum Community Relations Inc., a Calgary based consulting company dedicated to promoting and creating space for meaningful engagement, reconciliation, and relationship-building. In her work with over 60 Indigenous communities and organizations across Canada, Anne brings a strong blend of knowledge, skills, and lived experience as a settler advancing Indigenous inclusion, engagement, and reconciliation.

Jason Hatcher is the Managing Principal of Navigator and one of Canada’s leading professionals in strategic communications. He brings over 15 years of experience advising political and business leaders in the areas of communications, campaign and election strategy, media relations and public policy. Jason is a community leader, passionate volunteer, and in addition to his involvement with the Chamber since 2016, he also serves on the Board of United Way Centraide Canada.

The Calgary Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors comprises eleven business leaders from Calgary who provide stewardship and sound strategic advice to the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
