CALGARY - “The Calgary Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Honourable Elizabeth May for her thirteen years of service as the leader of the Green Party of Canada. Over the course of her political career, she has made history by being the first Green Party candidate to be elected to the House of Commons, and for being one of the longest serving leaders of a Canadian federal party. We wish her every success as she continues to represent her constituents as Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Island and parliamentary leader of the Green caucus.
“Now, more than ever, we must rally to the ‘AND’ and look at both sides of the issues facing our society, from climate change, to sustainable agriculture, to socially responsible business practices. A minority government is an important opportunity for all our leaders to reach across the aisle and demonstrate just how powerful the ‘AND’ conversation can be. We look forward to working with interim Green Party leader, Jo-Ann Roberts, to advance this important conversation.”
