Call for Director Nominees

The Calgary Chamber is seeking nominations for general election of four (4) Directors to take office for a 3-year period commencing January 1, 2024.

As a member, you play an important role in setting the direction for the Calgary Chamber through your nomination of a member in good standing for the Chamber’s Board of Directors. A member in good standing is one with their membership paid in full as of the time of nomination. The nominee you put forward should be an individual who is part of the Chamber network and not part of your organization.

The Calgary Chamber embraces inclusivity and diversity and it is our intention to ensure our Board of Directors is representative of Calgary and the business community.

This year, the Board of Directors is looking for Nominees within the following strategic areas:

• Corporate Strategic Planning & Execution 
  Experience in developing strategy and monitoring execution against strategic goals. 
• Entrepreneurship
  Experience, capacity and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks to make a profit.
• Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance
  Knowledge of approaches to evaluate an entity’s environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) impacts.
• Risk Management & Mitigation 
  Knowledge and experience with the process of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), based on enterprise strategy. 
• Senior Executive Leadership 
  Experience in a C-suite, Board or Advisory role.
• Strategic Marketing 
  Experience in developing a link between the organization and its customers to leverage the combination of resources and capabilities within an organization to achieve a competitive advantage. 

Further, the elected Chamber Director(s) must have the following assets and experience:

• Purpose-driven, with a strategic perspective 
• Senior executive leadership experience 
• Commitment to the Calgary Chamber and its mission, vision and values 
• Board governance 
• Financial literacy 

Nominations are open from September 21, 2023 to October 20, 2023. If you want to nominate a Chamber Member, you must submit a signed Director Nomination Form, along with the following nominee information:

• Completed and signed Director Nominee Application
• Director Nominee Statutory Declaration
• CV/Resume
• Photo (headshot)
• Link to your LinkedIn profile

Please note, members cannot self-nominate. A member must nominate another member in good standing. Please submit all completed forms to secretary@calgarychamber.com no later than 11:59PM October 20, 2023.
