Named in honour of the incredible Calgarian Sherrold Moore, a man who has helped build both our business community and community at large. He began volunteering initially to help create a better community for his daughter, and he transferred his substantial business skills honed from years of senior business and directorship roles into the sporting world to also become a leader in sport in Alberta.
Sherrold’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Albertans extends well beyond the business and sporting arena as well, as he is involved in many other organizations committed to the betterment of the arts, health, politics, and the environment.
This award is bestowed upon a long-standing member whose character embodies the true essence of community, volunteerism and humble dedication that is exemplified by Sherrold Moore.
Ian Anderson himself was a steadfast Chamber volunteer and committee chair, who left us far too soon. The Ian Anderson Committee Chair of the Year award recognizes an exemplary leader who demonstrates an ongoing commitment to the Chamber by taking an active leadership role in policy roundtables, and advancing the advocacy of the Chamber, one of our most important roles. The Ian Anderson Committee Chair of the Year is chosen for the qualities of intelligence, dependability, creativity and leadership.
The volunteer of the year award goes to celebrate one of those volunteers who have given of their time and talents to help the Chamber be successful, make a difference in the community and act as a leader to inspire others.
The Calgary Chamber Annual General Meeting 2024 is free to attend for all active Chamber members in good standing. You can register here.
